One hour concert followed by three-course dinner. Doors open at 6:00, concert starts at 6:30pm.

The absolute Italian legend of violoncello makes a Fidelio appearance to present Bach’s sonatas and partitas on Violoncello piccolo. Violoncello piccolo is an instrument that was relatively popular in the 18th century, a smaller version of the cello with five strings that allowed to play most violin repertoire an octave lower. Bach used it extensively in his sacred music.

Since winning Tchaikovsky Competition in 1986 as the first European ever, Mario Brunello’s authentic and passionate performances style has allowed him to collaborate with the most renowned conductors of our generation such as Antonio Pappano, Valery Gergiev, Myung-whun Chung, Yuri Temirkanov, Zubin Mehta, Ton Koopman, Manfred Honeck, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Riccardo Chailly and Claudio Abbado. As a chamber musician, Mario Brunello has shared the stages worldwide with artists such as Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Andrea Lucchesini, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Giuliano Carmignola, Maurizio Pollini and Borodin Quartet.
