Born in California in 1998, Ignas was raised in Lithuania. In July 2021 he received “The Queen’s Award for Excellence” as the highest-scoring graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. In June 2023 Ignas became the winner of Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) International Auditions.

This season highlights include, among other things, Mozart K. 467 with London Mozart Players in London, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 with Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.

For his Fidelio debut, Ignas brings Schubert’s last sonata, one of the most legendary pieces in the piano repertoire and pairs it with Schumann’s Kinderszenen, an exquisite, visionary work where fresh youthful humour and deep maturity are equally present. Similar characteristics define Schubert’s B-flat sonata, a work whose apparent simplicity is underpinned by extraordinary complexity.
