Rachmaninoff cello: Elschenbroich and Grynyuk (SOLD-OUT)

May 13, 2024 6:30 PM

Rachmaninoff’s only cello sonata is considered a masterpiece of the cello repertoire despite its fiendish writing, which demands deep musicality as well as the most advanced technique. Appeared at the turn of the twentieth century, the works shares with the contemporary piano concerto No. 2 a sense of longing for the gone Russian past. German cellist and conductor Leonard Elschenbroich presents this work with his long term piano partner Alexei Grynyuk for us ahead of a South American tour.
