Roman Simović and Enrico Pace

June 11, 2024 6:30 PM

A meaty programme of virtuosic pieces presented by the legendary Enrico Pace and Roman Simović. Little did Strauss know that what came into being as an exercise in composition would become a standard repertoire piece. Beethoven was perhaps more ambitious, as he wanted to create “almost a concerto”. The piece is notoriously demanding and long, but shows Beethoven at his best.

Programme:

L. van Beethoven Violin Sonata No. 10 in A major Op. 47 “A Kreutzer”

R. Strauss Violin Sonata in E-flat major Op. 18

Roman Simović, violin
Enrico Pace, piano
